The
purpose of this training is to provide the
participant the necessary skills to conduct a
meaningful and fruitful interview or
interrogation. The understanding between a
confession and an admission is critical to the out
come of any interview. The participant will learn
the difference between an interview and an
interrogation and how to apply techniques to
enhance the level off success. This training
employs lecture and practical exercise to achieve
the curriculum goals.
This course is a
prerequisite to Advance Interviews and
Interrogations.
Population of Interest:
This is an interdisciplinary course which
stresses an analytical approach to the interview
and interrogation process. It combines
methodology ranging from Neurolinguistic
Programming (NLP) and the non-verbal
communication disciplines to the verbal behavior
studies used successfully by other interviewers
and interrogators.
The purpose of this course is to familiarize
students the principles and practice of Analytic
Interviewing, thus enabling them to enhance
their abilities and success during interviews
and interrogations. The mastering of this skill
will provide the investigator the expertise to
be his or her own "lie detector".
The participant must have completed a
basic interview and interrogation class as a
prerequisite to this course.
Population of Interest:
This
training is designed to offer the participant the
basic knowledge of the use of handcuffs on a non
combative person. Course instruction includes
nomenclature, care and proper wearing of
handcuffs. The participant will receive
instruction on the proper employment of handcuffs
in a safe and judicious manner to lessen the
possibility of injury to the subject being
handcuffed. The Black Duck Corporation does not
simulate this training exercise.
This course is a prerequisite to Advanced
Handcuffing Techniques.
Population of Interest:
This
training is designed for handcuffing the combative
person. The participant will receive instruction
on the proper distance, commands and deployment of
handcuffs in a quick, but safe and judicious
manner. The participant will learn the meaning of
positional asphyxiation and the need to avoid
certain positions while a person is handcuffed.
This course requires the participant to in good
physical and mental condition. This is a more
strenuous course of instruction and requires the
participant to bend at the waist, kneel, assist a
lying cuffed person to their feet and escort them
to another location. The Black Duck Corporation
does not simulate this training exercise.
Participant must
provide a "fit for duty" certification from the
employer.
Participant must have completed a Basic
Handcuffing Technique course prior to
participating in the Advanced Handcuffing
Technique class.
*It is
recommended, but not required that participants of
the Advanced Handcuffing Technique Course have OC
Pepper Spray certification.
Population of Interest:
This training course is designed for the
participant to be qualified by the North
Carolina Private Protective Services Board to
obtain a firearms registration. Weapons taught
are: revolver, semiautomatic handgun and
shotgun. The course requires the participant to
receive instruction in a minimum of five (5)
modules: Legal, Safety, Handgun Operation and
Maintenance, Marksmanship Fundamentals and Night
Firing. Participants must score a minimum of
80% utilizing a duty weapon. A "fit for duty"
certification from each
